Three new store openings have boosted a shopping courtyard in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre which boasts a string of independent businesses.

Boutique beauty salon Gorgeous Obsession, footwear specialists ShoeMed and vintage furniture store Shabby Chic Sister have all moved into The Minories Courtyard off Henley Street and Rother Street which is now fully let.

The trio have been supported with their respective openings by Midlands commercial surveyors and property consultants Reeves & Partners through their management of the development.

New business Gorgeous Obsession specialises in make-up, hair and nail techniques and has recently launched a new cosmetic range, Gorgeous Tempest, which is exclusive to the store. Owner Rachel Ngombe said the opening has created five new jobs.

ShoeMed is one of the UK's leading specialists of comfort and orthopaedic footwear and offers a fitting service for people with wider or hard to fit feet.

The store, which is run by Lisa Preston and her husband Karl, has moved to The Minories from Timothy's Bridge Road and is looking to take on an apprentice later this year.

Shabby Chic Sister sells a mix of old and new furniture, clothes, cards, gifts and jewellery and also offers a free 'search and find' service for customers who don't have time to find what they need.

Owner Kate Harrison said: "There is a great community spirit amongst all the tenants at The Minories – it's a great place to be.

"Reeves & Partners have been very proactive in doing all they can to assist the new tenants. The rents are very affordable and we're delighted to be here."

Stuart Gregory, director at Reeves & Partners, which has offices in Leamington and Coventry, added: "The Minories Courtyard has a really good mix of businesses, from a wedding shop and photo studio, to a computer shop, cookshop, Edinburgh Woollen Mill café, El Greco Greek restaurant and a sewing studio.

"We're delighted to add Gorgeous Obsession, ShoeMed and Shabby Chic Sister to that list. We wish the businesses all the best here and look forward to working together for the success of The Minories."
