Major company expands in the city with with help from experts

A Midlands property expert has sealed the deal to help a major company expand in the city.

TAM International UK - a leading producer and supplier of chemicals for waterproofing and leak sealing in the construction industry - has expanded is headquarters at the Seven Stars Industrial Estate.

It has taken a 7,510 sq ft unit through the Coventry office of commercial property experts Reeves & Partners, just next door to the 11,592 sq ft unit it acquired through the agents just eight months ago.

The company, which has offices in six countries, is part of Norman Hay plc which employs more than 125 staff throughout the city, and has its global headquarters at Godiva Place.

Tam is jointly-owned by Norman Hay and Finnish company Normet and started life at Godiva Place before its expansion

Ross Dimmock, TAM International Regional Director, said the expansion reflected the company's growth and move into new markets.

"We manufacture and supply waterproofing, leak sealing, repair and protection for the construction and building industry and that has been the foundation of the company's success.

"But more recently we have moved into new sectors including ground engineering, tunnelling and mining which we view as growth areas which we are in a good position to exploit.

"Norman Hay has been in Coventry for around 25 years and we were keen to stay in the city. We view the location as a major advantage.

"Most of our competitors manufacture abroad but being British has given us a cutting edge when going for work on some of the biggest projects in the UK such as the Cross Rail scheme in London.

"We found our current headquarters through Reeves & Partners, and feel that now is the right time to push forward and expand. We are expecting considerable growth in the next few years."

TAM has signed a 10 year lease on its new 7,510 sq ft building which features warehousing and two storey offices.

Richard Pomfret, of Reeves & Partners, said: "Seven Stars industrial estate is popular and diverse estate with a wide range of businesses from a variety of sectors.

"TAM International is a well established firm which clearly has exciting plans but want to develop in the city.

"Not only does it have an international presence but it is a British manufacturer sending its products across the globe which is good for Coventry.

"It is vital for the economy that companies are able to expand but remain in the city. Quite often than can mean them moving - so we are delighted we could obtain the adjacent unit for TAM."
