CLS Fabrication

A Warwickshire manufacturer and supplier of quality cubicle and washroom systems is looking forward to a future flushed with success after relocating to new premises.

CLS Fabrication was established in 1974 in Leamington Spa and has since built an enviable reputation as a decorative laminate fabricator, supplying to the construction, contract furniture and shop fitting trade; manufacturing toilet cubicles, paneling systems, table tops, shelving and customized items.

The company found it was in need of new premises, after 38 years, following the decision by its landlord to expand their own business located in the adjacent unit.

In stepped Midlands-based commercial property surveyors Reeves & Partners, who were given the brief to find CLS a suitable location within a commutable distance for the company's 12 local employees.

With limited available stock in the local area, a team led by managing director Richard Pomfret sought to identify a site that would meet the needs of CLS.

The result was a 16,500 sq ft storage unit at Budbrooke Industrial Park, Warwick, which the company has transformed into a manufacturing facility, which is not only fit for purpose, but also fit for future expansion.

Harold Godfrey, managing director of CLS Fabrication, said: "The storage unit offered us scope to expand the size of our business, and whilst it's been a difficult time for the company having to relocate from our premises of 38 years, we're now in a really good position to make the most of opportunities to grow the business.

"It's been quite a significant investment for the business to ensure that the site meets our specific and specialist needs both in terms of manufacturing and also distribution.

"The sector we operate in is extremely competitive and the recession has placed further demands on our business.

"However, we're confident that our new site will allow us to move forward and emerge stronger, giving us the opportunity to increase capacity and output to meet the size of our new facility."

Pomfret of Reeves & Partners added that it was a problem for companies looking to relocate as despite the difficult market and economic conditions the availability of good quality accommodation is limited.

"CLS had quite specific needs. As a manufacturer the business required a facility that was immediately fit for purpose and that also offered good quality for the right price," he said.

"We were pleased to have been able to assist CLS Fabrication with their search, finding them suitable accommodation in a tough market. We wish them well for the future as they look to expand the business."
