Reeves & Partners boosts business in Binley

A leading Midlands property firm has helped to boost business activity at the Binley Industrial Estate in Coventry.

Commercial property experts Reeves & Partners have chalked up two sales and a hat-trick of lettings since January 2013 at the park which is home to more than 100 businesses.

The properties, ranging from 950 sq ft to 2,475 sq ft are located on Hotchkiss Way, at the heart of the estate.

Richard Pomfret, director of Reeves & Partners, which has offices in both Coventry and Leamington said: “We have definitely seen an increased level of activity at Binley which hopefully is a barometer for the local economy.

“A great deal of firms based on the estate are SMEs and owner managed so it is good to see that the growth is happening at that level and in a wide range of sectors. These types of business areas are the lifeblood of the local economy.

“We have recently seen an increase in the number of freehold sales on the estate with particular interest from smaller companies who wish to expand or relocate their business.”

Shopfitters and restaurant refurbishment specialist 360 Commercial Interiors has relocated to Stoney Court from its previous location at the Arches in the city centre. It hopes the new premises will enable future company expansion.

Martin Turner, managing director of the firm, said: “We were eager to acquire a freehold property therefore the unit was particularly ideal for us. It was situated in a great location with access to the local roads and motorway network and many of our suppliers. It also has the potential for further developments to be made.

“We have already refurbished and refitted the whole premises creating a new showroom and we are now planning to extend the building to include a separate downstairs. We are also hoping to sublet some space for storage or office use.

“This extension will hopefully enable us to continue to expand the business and offer additional employment opportunities in the future.”

Printing specialists Clifford Press also acquired two premises on the site in addition to an existing unit at Lifford Way – its base for 18 years.

Paul Thomas, company director of Clifford Press, said: “We needed to expand our business premises due to the installation of a new industrial printer. These additional units provide us with the extra space we required in a location nearby.”

Reeves & Partners manage several other units on the Binley Industrial Estate, including the Herald Business Park and properties on Cavans Way.
